“Consider 2 two-digit numbers: 10a+b
and 10c+d where a, b, c, and d are single-digit numbers. Now (10a+b)/(10c+d) =
{ 11(10a+b)}/ { 11(10c+d)}=(100a + 10(a+b)
+ b)/(100c + 10(c+d) +d). Now if a+b =
c+d < 10 then we will have a common
middle digit, which can be removed, and
thus a valid solution. Every three-digit
solution follows this form.”
